One Long Day
MM 803
Today’s trek took us from Titusville mooring field to Palm Coast Florida, a total of 75 miles.
We had current both with us, and against us, along the way. Captain Don released the mooring lines around 8am, and 13 bridges later, Neal assisted us (way to go, Neal!) in docking after hours at the Palm Coast Marina.
We saw beautiful coastal fishing areas and some narrow passages of the ICW. This photo was taken after we passed through a draw bridge (actually, a basculé bridge) at Haulover Canal in Mims, FL.
We encountered serious shoaling around Ponce de Leon cut, so much so that a BoatUS tow boat was stationed at a turn in the ICW waiting to assist stranded vessels. He even called the boat behind us to advise of a better route because he clearly was not following BOB423’s recommended track!
Dinner at the famous “European Village” was delightful, very walkable from the marina.
