Another day in St Augustine, and the Cavalry arrives

One of our dock-mates from yesterday mentioned a donut shop near the marina called “Peace, Love and Donuts.” They are small baked donuts with specialty toppings, and they are delicious

We strolled around town most of the morning, and took out our eclipse glasses for a view of the event (although we were far from totality). Even a partial eclipse is pretty impressive.

And then… Paul Macpherson arrived on his trusty Mustang Mach E (electric) to lend us his dinghy motor for the remainder of our trip! What a terrific brother-in-law to drive 5 hours from Cape Coral to deliver a backup Torqeedo for us.

Once Paul settled in, we visited the tall ship Nao Trinidad, moored at the marina. It’s a replica of one of the Spanish explorer ships from the 1500s. Touring one of the early sailing vessels really makes one appreciate the modern conveniences.

Dinner was at The Columbia Restaurant in St Augustine, that dates back to the original Columbia in Ybor City (in Tampa) from 1905. It specializes in traditional Spanish cuisine and is known for its 1905 Salad Dressing that is amazing.
